Drake International has an immediate requirement for a suitably experienced Accountant. Main duties are:

• Provide a high level of advice to senior managers on accounting issues
• Ensure month end procedures, including adjusting journals and general ledger reconciliations are undertaken accurately and on time.
• Maintain records of operating performance for comparison with estimated budget and monitor actual results against budgets commitments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports – BAS etc.
• Review and ensure the adequacy and operation of financial controls in respect of payroll, purchasing, general ledger, assets register, debtors, accounts payable and work in progress.
• In conjunction with Project and Senior Managers provide the necessary financial and management information to assist them with project cost control and project performance.
• Assist with compliance of all financial statutory and government policy requirements for the organisation and conduct all activities with a high level of ethical standards.
• Maintenance and preparation of operational and capital budgets.
• Maintenance and preparation of cash flow statements, together with proper cash flow management in line with forecasts/projections.
• Prepare and compile annual financial reports and fringe benefits tax returns for lodgement.
• Participate in the management of taxation matters and undertake appropriate action s required.
• Understands and supports the policies and procedures of the organisation.
• Provide technical input, support and assistance for the management team in strategic planning, and management systems.

Selection Criteria

Experience:

• Proven experience in undertaking the accounting functions within a commercial organisation.
• Preparation of budgets, annual accounts and cash flow statements.
• Preparation of FBT returns and BAS returns.
